A surface look at Psychotropic Drugs - Pt II

Due to Popular demand(Who the hell am i kidding ??? ) ... im putting up the second part of the post on Drugs... Enjoy

6)COKE

Cocaine and crack are both stimulants with powerful, but short-lived effects. The big difference is that crack is much stronger and more addictive than cocaine.
Coke is a white powder that's usually divided into lines on a smooth surface and snorted up the nose with a rolled up tenner or a straw. It can be smoked and is sometimes made into a solution and injected.
AKA:- coke, charlie, C, white, Percy, snow, toot.

7)CANNABIS

Cannabis is prepared for human consumption in several forms:

Marijuana or buds, the resin gland-rich flowering tops of female plants.
Sinsemilla or sensemillia, flowering tops which are free of seeds as a result of being grown in a pollen-free environment. Since no plant energy can go into seed formation, this version is higher in psychoactive components.
kief or kif, a powder containing the resin glands (glandular trichomes, often incorrectly called "crystals" or "pollen"). It is produced by sifting marijuana and leaves.
Hashish, a concentrated resin made from pressing kif into blocks.
Charas, produced by hand-rubbing the resin from the resin gland-rich parts of the plant. Often thin dark rectangular pieces.
Bhang, prepared by the wet grinding of the leaves of the plant and used as a drink.
Hash oil, resulting from extraction or distillation of THC-rich parts of the plant.
Residue, when smoked through a pipe all of the above will cause black goo to create a film on the sides or collect in certain knooks depending on it's shape. This can be collected and resmoked.
Minimally potent leaves and detritus, called shake, bush or leaf.

AKA :- Bhang, black, blast, blow, blunts. Bob Hope, bush, dope, draw, ganja, grass, hash, hashish, hemp, herb, marijuana, pot, puff, Northern Lights, resin, sensi, sinsemilla, shit, skunk, smoke, soap, spliff, wacky backy, weed, zero. Some names are based on where it comes from... Afghan, homegrown, Moroccan etc
(I couldave go ON AND ON about cannabis , But then i didnt Wanna make it any more long and boring than it already is !!!! )

8)Heroin

Heroin is a natural opiate. It's made from the morphine which comes from the opium poppy. Like many drugs made from opium, including the synthetic opioids like methadone, heroin is a very strong painkiller.

Heroin sold as 'brown' is sometimes used by clubbers as a chill out after a big night out. Brown is still heroin, some people mistakenly think it's not as addictive.

Heroin comes as a white powder when it's pure such as that used by doctors. But thanks to the range of substances it's cut with, street heroin can be anything from brownish white to brown.

It can be smoked, snorted or dissolved in water and injected.

AKA :- Brown, skag, H, horse, gear, smack.

9)Crystal MEth

Methylamphetamine (commonly referred to as methamphetamine) is one of a group of a psychostimulant drugs called amphetamines that act on the brain and nervous system.

Illicit methylamphetamine is produced in tablet, powder, or crystalline forms. These products are taken orally, snorted or can be prepared for injection, but unlike amphetamine, methylamphetamine can also be smoked.

The powder is sometimes referred to as 'crystal meth', but this term is more often used for the purer crystalline form, also known as 'ice', 'glass', 'tina' and 'christine'.

The tablet form is sometimes referred to as 'yaba'.

10)Magic mushroom

Magic Mushrooms are mushrooms which grow in the wild that produce similar effects to LSD when you eat them. There are two main types and they are both very different.

The most common form is a species called psilocybe, the other more potent variety is amanita muscaria. There are deadly poisonous species of amanitas. If you don't know what you're doing, don't take them.

Psilcybin mushrooms are small and tan coloured and bruise blue when they're touched. Amanita Muscaria are more like the red and white spotted toadstools you see in fairytale books.

After picking, they're both either eaten raw or dried out and stored. Most people take between 1-5 grams.

AKA :- Liberties, magics, mushies, liberty cap, psilcybe semilanceata, psilcybin, shrooms, Amani agaric, Fly Agaric.

A surface look at Psychotropic Drugs - Pt I

Yup its Exam time again and i thought .. What the hell ..mightaswell blog :D . Ive been hearing (and seeing? ) A lot on Weed and marijuana lately. All i knew was that they were just Drugs . So one day i decided to enlighten myself , so i checked it out on the net .This here is some stuff i found on it !!! Its about various psychotropic Drugs !!(Yeah dude , the stuff ur weird neighbour snorts!! ) its Divided into 2 parts Cuz as just one post , its WAAY too huge ( Not surprising huh :D !!)
The descriptions are taken straight out of Websites and has Zero contribution from me!!!! So it might be a lot more boring than my usual boring posts !!!

1)Ecstacy

The original designer drug. Ecstasy shot to fame in the early 90's as the rave culture took off and clubbers took it to stay awake and dance for hours. An estimated 500,000* people take it every weekend.Pure Ecstasy is a white crystalline powder known to chemists as MDMA. Ecstasy sold on the street is usually in tablet form although it's getting more common to see it sold as powder. E's come in all sorts of colours and some of them have pictures or logos stamped into them.
They are usually swallowed although some people do smoke or snort them.
The effects take about half an hour to kick in and tend to last between 3 to 6 hours, followed by a gradual comedown. It's the drug of choice for many clubbers and 4% of 16-25 year olds have taken some in the last 3 months.
People have been known to take another E because they haven't come up. The danger is both E's kick in and you have a double dose to deal with
AKA :- E, pills, brownies, burgers, disco biscuits, hug drug, 'Mitsubishi's', 'Rolex's', 'Dolphin's', XTC

2)LSD

LSD or Lysergic Acid Diethylamide is a hallucinogenic drug originally derived from ergot, a fungus found growing wild on rye and other grasses. It's commonly called acid. The experience is known as a trip and these trips can be good or bad. A good trip can be a lot of fun. A bad trip is your worst nightmare come to life.
As a street drug it's usually sold as tiny squares of paper, usually with pictures on them. But it can be found as a liquid or as tiny pellets.
A trip can take from 20 minutes to an hour to start and usually lasts about 12 hours. Once it's started you can't stop it. And until you take a tab of acid you can't tell how strong it is or how it's going to affect you.
AKA - Acid, blotter, cheer, dots, drop, flash, hawk, L, lightening flash, liquid acid, Lucy, micro dot, paper mushrooms, rainbows, smilies, stars, tab, trips, tripper, window. Sometimes LSD is known by the pictures on them e.g strawberries.

3)Speed

Speed is the street name for Amphetamine. Like coke it's a stimulant that people take to keep them awake and alert. It's Britain's least pure illegal drug. It's often taken along with E.
Amphetamines like speed are usually sold in wraps like cocaine. The powder is off-white or pinkish and can sometimes look like small crystals. Base speed is purer and is a pinkish-grey colour and feels like putty.
Crystal Meth (Methamphetamine or Methylamphetamine) is processed speed that looks like off-white rocks or crystals. Both Speed and Crystal Meth are Amphetamines although Crystal Meth is able to be smoked, it is much stronger and more likely to lead to dependence.
Prescription amphetamines like dexamphetamine are usually small white pills.
Speed's either dabbed onto the gums or sniffed in lines like cocaine using a rolled up bank note. Sometimes it's rolled up in cigarette paper and swallowed. This is called a speedbomb. It can be mixed in drinks, or injected and methamphetamine can be smoked in its 'crystal' form.
The effects kick in after about half an hour if ingested but much quicker if injected or smoked (methamphetamine) and can last for up to six hours. But it all depends on the quality of the speed. The high is followed by a long slow comedown.
AKA Amphetamine Sulphate, Phet, Billy, Whizz, Sulph, Base, Amphetamine, Paste, Dexamphetamine, Dexies, Dexedrine.

4)Poppers

Poppers are small bottles filled with liquid chemicals called alkyl nitrites. They were used at the turn of the century for people suffering from chest pains. Nitrites like Amyl Nitrite dilate the blood vessels and allow more blood to get to the heart.
They're usually sniffed straight from the bottle and deliver a short, sharp high. Poppers are sold in sex shops, clubs and gay bars.
Nitrites originally came as small glass capsules that were popped open, hence the name. Nowadays they're available in small bottles with brand names like Ram, Thrust and Rock Hard. One big sniff and you can feel the effects. They fade after a couple of minutes.
AKA Amyl nitrite, butyl nitrite, isobutyl nitrite, Ram, Thrust, Rock Hard, Kix, TNT, Liquid Gold

5)Crack

Crack is a smokeable form of Cocaine that's made into small lumps or rocks. It's called crack because it makes a crackling sound when it's being burnt. It's a stimulant with short-lived effects and it's properly addictive.
A rock of crack is about the size of a raisin. It's usually smoked in a pipe, glass tube, plastic bottle or in foil. Most people take it this way and it's known as freebasing. Although it can be injected.
AKA rocks, wash, stones, pebbles, base, freebase.

Well known facts.... WHICH ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!

Myth 1: Coca-Cola will dissolve a tooth overrnight. (HAH Dont the parents just WIsh!!)

FACT -
Coca-Cola will not dissolve a tooth (or a nail, or a penny, or a piece of meat) overnight. Coca-Cola contains acids (such as citric acid and phosphoric acid) which will eventually dissolve items such as teeth (given enough time), but so do plenty of other substances we commonly ingest (such as orange juice). The concentration of acid in these products is so low that our digestive systems are easily capable of coping with it with no harm to us

Myth 2:The Great Wall of China is the only man-made object visible from the moon (Wrong again)

FACT-
The only thing you can see from the moon is a beautiful sphere, mostly white (clouds), some blue (ocean), patches of yellow (deserts), and every once in a while some green vegetation. No man-made object is visible on this scale. In fact, when first leaving earth's orbit and only a few thousand miles away, no man-made object is visible at that point either. An object that can barely be seen from a height of 180 miles up is obviously not going to be visible from the moon (roughly 237,000 miles away), as confirmed by Apollo 12 astronaut Alan Bean

MYTH 3: On average, men think about sex every seven seconds ( wweeeLLL Wrong of course..... Apparently they think less about it....Contrary to what i thought as once in 3 seconds..... no comments check the linkHere )

MYTH 4:Hair grows back darker or thicker after it has been shaved.(Sigh... no wonder!!)

FACT-
Shaving has Absolutely No Accelarating effects on the Growth of hair!!! JUst an old Wive's Tale.
Scientifically proved.

MYTH 5: Cats always land on their feet

FACT-
While cats instinctively fall feet first and may survive falls from high places, they also may receive broken bones in the process. So Not always do cats land on their 4 feet.

MYTH 6:Swallowing a chewing gum would mean it would remain in ur digestive system for a long long time

FACT-
Chewing gum is largely indigestible, but it will make its way through your digestive system at the same rate as anything else you consume.

MYTH 7:Drinking alcohol — brandy, for example — will warm you up when out in cold weather.
(OH noo)

FACT-
A swig of brandy might initially make you feel warmer, but drinking any alcoholic beverage actually lowers your core body temperature. It sends blood to your skin, which will make you feel warm and flushed, but causes you to lose body heat. You could suffer from hypothermia and not even feel it. Alcohol can also cause dehydration and impair your judgment, which can make matters even worse.

MYTH 8:Everyone should drink eight glasses of water a day to stay healthy and properly hydrated

FACT-
While it's a good idea to drink plenty of water, there is no scientific or medical basis for the specific amount of eight glasses per day. Water intake needs vary from person to person, depending on age, size and amount of physical activity. We can also get water from food and other beverages, so we don't necessarily need to get all of our fluids in the form of drinking water

MYTH 9:If you cut a worm in half, each half will grow back into a complete worm

FACT-
If you cut a worm in half, you will most likely end up with two halves of a dead worm. However, some species of worms can re-grow a new tail if it is cut off (or more likely, eaten by a bird). While it is possible that the head half of the worm may grow a new tail, the tail half will not grow a new head — so you're unlikely to end up with more worms than you started with.
